Job Description

A ground staff member's job is tofacilitate smooth and safe operations by assisting passengers through check-in, baggage handling, and boarding, while also ensuring security and providing customer service at airports, train stations, or seaports.Key responsibilities include managing baggage, verifying tickets, providing flight information, helping passengers with special needs, and coordinating with other airport staff for efficient passenger flow and timely aircraft operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Passenger Assistance:

    Greeting passengers, assisting with check-in, issuing boarding passes, and guiding travellers to gates and seating areas.
  • Baggage Handling:

    Tagging, loading, and unloading luggage, and managing inquiries about lost or misplaced bags.
  • Customer Service:

    Answering passenger questions, providing information on delays and cancellations, and resolving travel-related issues.
  • Security and Safety:

    Conducting security checks, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and maintaining a secure environment.
  • Operational Coordination:

    Working with flight crews, dispatchers, and other ground personnel to ensure timely aircraft departures and arrivals.
  • Special Needs Assistance:

    Providing mobility and other support to passengers with disabilities or those traveling with children.
  • Ticketing and Reservations:

    Selling tickets and assisting with reservation management.

Typical Duties
