Production Manager Current & Potential Transformer (CT/PT) Manufacturing

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the manufacturing operations of Current Transformers (CTs) and Potential Transformers (PTs), ensuring efficient production, quality compliance, on-time delivery, cost optimization, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Production

• Plan, organize, and control daily production activities for CT/PT manufacturing lines.
• Ensure achievement of production targets as per customer schedules.
• Optimize resource utilization (manpower, machinery, materials).

Process & Quality Control

• Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for CT/PT manufacturing processes (winding, core assembly, epoxy casting, curing, testing, final assembly).
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IS standards and internal quality systems.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for routine, type, and special test validation.

Team Management & Training

• Lead, motivate, and develop production teams to achieve departmental goals.
• Conduct skill training for operators and supervisors on CT/PT manufacturing practices.
• Monitor productivity, absenteeism, and discipline within the team.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives for efficiency and waste reduction.
• Reduce process rejections, rework, and improve first-pass yield.
• Implement automation and process optimization for cost reduction.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to safety standards and EHS guidelines.
• Maintain statutory and regulatory compliance for the manufacturing unit.

Cross-functional Coordination

• Collaborate with Design, Purchase, and Planning teams to ensure smooth flow of materials and new product introduction.
• Support Sales/Customer Service in meeting urgent customer requirements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of CT/PT manufacturing processes (core cutting, winding, epoxy resin casting, assembly, testing).
• Understanding of electrical standards (IEC 61869 series, IS 2705, IS 3156).
• Proficiency in production planning tools (ERP/SAP, MS Excel).
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of Lean/TPM/Kaizen practices preferred.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education:

  Diploma/B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical/Production Engineering.

• Experience:

  810 years in transformer- CT/PT manufacturing
