Unit Head - Agriculture
Summary
The Unit Head Agriculture, role involves end-to-end business responsibility (Planning & Strategic responsibility) for the department. The key responsibilities include business leadership, customer & sales leadership, people leadership, strategic leadership and influencing the company culture. The role will be a part of the company’s leadership team and will report directly into the MD. The role offers an opportunity for rapid growth and will play a key role in the company’s growth plans over the next three years.

Department Business Ownership (P&L)
- End to End planning execution. Providing additional inputs for planning.
- Ownership to prepare department business plan for the year and keep the same up to date.
- Provide business updates & reports on the department to the MD and leadership team on weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
- Business Plan for the coming financial year to be prepared in Q4 and signed off with MD
- Regular business updates at department level

Customer & Sales Leadership:
- Revenue growth from existing accounts
- New logo acquisitions for the department
- Sales of strategic products
- Ensure that customer service, customer engagement and customer experience is at highest levels.
- Plan & execute marketing, lead generation and business development activities to maintain healthy pipeline
- Regular meeting with the top 5 customers
- Revenues from existing accounts to grow as per department targets
- New customers to be acquired as per targets for the department
- Number of instances of strategic products sold to be as per targets
- Department CSAT and CSAT for each customer to be as per targets
- Pipeline and leads generated to be as per targets

People Leadership:
- Keep the department team inspired, motivated and happy with their work
- Identify, mentor and groom top talent in the department
- Work closely with HR Head for employee engagement activities
- Direct involvement in hiring of staff for the department (working closely with HR Head)
- Employee Satisfaction Scores (ESAT)& engagement levels to be as per company & industry norms
- 360 feedback from the team should be overall positive
- Any improvement areas to be acted upon with a clear plan
- Active participation in employee engagement activities, working closely with HR head

Strategic Leadership:
- Stay up to date with industry and market trends relevant to the department
- Prepare department level growth strategy and present to MD & leadership team
- Execute on the department strategy
- Contributions and active involvement in company strategy
- Conduct learning/training sessions with regards to industry updates and sales module
- Prepare strategies with regard to team growth
- Department Strategy plan for coming year to be prepared, presented to MD& leadership team, and signed off during Q4
- Quality of contributions to company strategy as rated by MD & leadership team

Experience
Overall industry experience: 12 – 15 years
Specific experience:
At least 8-10 years’ experience in the Agriculture sector across areas like:- New Product Development
- End-to-end project implementation
- Sustainable Agriculture
- Development and implementation of large programs
- Business Planning and execution
- Customer Service
- Budgeting and financial management
Desirable experience:
An experience in corporate strategy, marketing, international business in the Agriculture sector with demonstrated knowledge of past and current trends in Agriculture.
Educational Qualifications
- Good at Academics
- M. Sc / Ph D or both in Agriculture from a reputed institution
- Degree in Management from a reputed university
- Any Agriculture-related training, certifications etc will be an added advantage.
