Underwriting Supervisor

As a team lead at a US-based rental-platform startup represented by InCommon, your role will involve leading, coaching, and supporting a team of Underwriters, Leads, Coordinators, and new hires. Your main responsibility will be to drive performance, training, and professional development to ensure consistent, high-quality underwriting operations. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and coach underwriters, overseeing their daily performance - Lead hiring, onboarding, and team training sessions - Address performance gaps and provide support through coaching with leads - Deliver retraining and coaching based on QA results and PIPs - Communicate process/policy updates and maintain documentation - Monitor KPIs, QA errors, and track performance metrics - Support daily backlog sweeps and operational escalations - Collaborate with the Manager of Leads to align performance and tools Qualifications: - Proven experience in underwriting, coaching, or team management - Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills - Ability to identify and address performance issues - Skilled in group training and one-on-one coaching - Solid understanding of underwriting processes and QA standards - Experience in tracking KPIs and improvement plans InCommon is representing a US-based rental-platform startup that focuses on streamlining tenant screening and approval for property managers.
