Underwriter Commercial Trucking

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Policy Binding Specialist / Underwriter with experience in U.S. commercial trucking insurance. This role involves evaluating risks, binding policies, and supporting underwriting decisions for a portfolio of trucking and transportation clients across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and evaluate insurance applications and supporting documentation for U.S. trucking risks.
• Bind insurance policies in accordance with underwriting guidelines and carrier authority.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of policy documentation and system entries.
• Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients to obtain necessary information and clarify underwriting requirements.
• Collaborate with senior underwriters and internal teams to support risk selection and pricing strategies.
• Maintain compliance with state regulations and company standards for commercial auto coverage.
• Monitor policy renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in commercial auto or trucking insurance underwriting or policy binding.
• Strong understanding of U.S. transportation insurance regulations and market practices.
• Ability to assess risk and apply underwriting judgment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with insurance systems and software platforms.
• Licensed in property & casualty insurance (preferred but not required).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with admitted and non-admitted trucking markets.
• Familiarity with FMCSA and DOT compliance requirements.
