UI/UX Designer

My Couponbook is a Canadian-based mobile platform that connects local businesses with their communities through a visual, feed-based discovery experience. We are fundamentally a coupon and rewards application designed to help businesses acquire and retain customers while helping consumers save money and support local.

We are currently establishing a sister company in Kochi, Kerala, to support the growth of our Canadian operations and prepare for our future launch in the Indian market.

The Role

We are looking for a UI/UX Product Designer to join as the first design hire for our growing Kochi team. This is a hands-on role where you will work directly with our Developer team in Canada to refine our digital products.

As our team grows, we plan to hire additional specialists in marketing and social media. Your role is pivotal in setting the standard for user experience and visual consistency, giving you a unique opportunity to grow a wide range of skills in a fast-paced startup environment. As the team expands, this role offers a clear pathway to grow into a leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design System & Structure

• Formalize and Scale: We have existing designs, but they need structure. You will take our current assets and organize them into a comprehensive Design System (Figma components, variables, and styles) to ensure consistency across our Mobile Apps and Web platforms.
• Efficiency: Create a shared component library that our developers can easily implement, reducing design debt and speeding up development.

2. App Experience (UI/UX)

• Polish & Refine: Review existing screens in our Business and Customer Apps and "polish" the UI to ensure a professional, high-quality look and feel.
• Optimize Navigation: Improve the User Experience (UX) to ensure customers can effortlessly navigate the app to achieve their goals—whether that is finding the exact deal they need or seamlessly redeeming a coupon with a business.
• New Feature Design: Design user flows and interfaces for new features as we expand our platform's functionality.

3. Landing Pages & Conversion

• High-Converting Landing Pages: Design attractive, results-driven landing pages that effectively communicate our value proposition to both consumers and business owners.
• Conversion Focus: Apply marketing psychology to your designs, ensuring that upgrade paths (like moving from Free to Premium) are attractive, intuitive, and seamlessly integrated into the user experience.

Who You Are

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design for mobile products and web.
• Figma Expert: You are highly proficient in Figma, specifically in organizing files, using auto-layout, and managing component libraries.
• User-Centric: You understand that good design is about solving problems. You prioritize clarity and ease of use over just "looking good."
• Collaborative: You have good English communication skills and are comfortable working directly with technical developers to bridge the gap between design and code.

Bonus Skills (Highly Valued)

• Marketing Knowledge: Understanding of how to design for sales and conversion.
• Basic Code: Ability to create React components or understand React.js/CSS to smooth the handoff to developers.
• AI Productivity: Familiarity with AI tools to speed up asset creation and workflow.
• Graphic Design: Ability to create templates for social media and digital assets.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
