Transport Supervisor

As a Transportation Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to plan and coordinate daily school transportation schedules and routes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely arrival and departure of buses, as well as supervising school bus drivers and support staff. Compliance with safety regulations, traffic laws, and school policies will be a key focus area for you, along with conducting regular safety checks of school vehicles. Additionally, you will arrange for driver training and safety briefings to uphold high safety standards. Being the point of contact for transportation-related concerns from parents, staff, and students, you will need to effectively communicate route changes, delays, or emergencies promptly. Liaising with local traffic authorities and vehicle service providers will be part of your responsibilities. Monitoring maintenance schedules and inspections of all school vehicles, keeping detailed logs of routes, schedules, incidents, and maintenance history, as well as ensuring proper documentation of drivers" licenses, permits, and background checks will also be essential tasks. Your role will involve supervising, scheduling, and evaluating drivers, handling driver discipline and performance issues when necessary, and assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new transportation staff. As the job may require early morning or late afternoon shifts, along with some weekend or evening work for school events, you should be prepared for a flexible work schedule that includes office-based and on-site work with transport vehicles. To qualify for this role, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field is a plus. Previous experience in transportation/logistics management or a supervisory role is required, along with a valid driver's license (preferably with a commercial vehicle endorsement). Your ability to manage multiple tasks, handle emergency situations calmly, and familiarity with GPS tracking systems and route planning tools will be advantageous. This position is full-time and permanent, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Transport Supervisor. The work location is in person.
