Sujatha School is inviting applications for the position of Transport Manager to manage and oversee the entire school transportation system. The candidate must be experienced, responsible, and capable of handling all transport operations efficiently.

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Transport Operations ManagementOversee end-to-end daily transport operations.

Prepare and manage bus schedules, routes, and timings.

Ensure punctual pickup and drop-off for all students and staff.

Monitor GPS tracking and maintain trip logs.

2. Safety & ComplianceEnsure all buses follow school and RTA safety norms.

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.

Verify all vehicle documents (fitness, insurance, permits) are up to date.

Enforce safety protocols for students, drivers, and helpers.

3. Staff SupervisionManage drivers and bus attendants/helpers.

Organize training programs on safety, discipline, and child handling.

Evaluate staff performance and ensure proper work discipline.

4. Vehicle MaintenanceSchedule routine servicing and maintenance of all vehicles.

Maintain records of repairs, and part replacements.

Handle breakdowns promptly and arrange backup vehicles.

5. Transport Budget ManagementPrepare, maintain, and monitor the overall transport budget.

Ensure cost-efficient operations without compromising safety.

Maintain financial records for monthly and annual planning.

6. Fuel Operations & Fuel BudgetOversee daily fuel usage, fuel logs, and fuel consumption monitoring.

Maintain fuel budget, track expenditures, and avoid misuse.

Coordinate with fuel suppliers and ensure proper billing and documentation.

Implement fuel-saving measures and report monthly consumption.

7. Communication & CoordinationLiaise with school administration on transport requirements and updates.

Handle parent concerns related to routes, timings, or behaviour of transport staff.

Send timely communication for route changes, delays, or emergencies.

8. Documentation & ReportingMaintain updated records of routes, drivers, helpers, vehicle documents, and maintenance logs.

Submit monthly transport reports, fuel reports, and expense statements.

Ensure proper filing and record keeping.

9. Emergency ManagementHandle emergencies such as breakdowns, accidents, or delays professionally.

Ensure immediate arrangements for student safety and alternate transport.

Candidate RequirementsMinimum 3–5 years experience in transport management (school experience preferred).

Strong leadership and team-handling skills.Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, route planning, and RTA regulations.

Experience in budget handling and fuel management.

Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents.

Basic computer skills (Excel, GPS dashboard, reporting tools).
