Transport and Logistics Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Transport and Logistics Manager to oversee the transportation, distribution, and logistics operations of our dairy farm. The ideal candidate will ensure timely delivery of raw milk, processed dairy products, and inputs across our supply chain while maintaining cost efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and manage dairy transportation activities including milk collection from farms and delivery to processing units and distributors.
• Supervise a fleet of vehicles including milk tankers, delivery vans, and service vehicles.
• Optimize logistics routes and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
• Coordinate with procurement, production, and sales teams for dispatch planning.
• Monitor vehicle maintenance, fuel usage, and driver duty rosters.
• Ensure all vehicles and drivers comply with safety, hygiene, and transport regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of transport activities, driver performance, and product movement.
• Manage vendor contracts and logistics service providers.
• Handle emergency situations including delays, breakdowns, and temperature breaches.
• Implement and monitor GPS tracking and temperature control systems for milk transportation.
• Prepare reports and KPIs for logistics performance and cost analysis.
• Train and guide transport staff and ensure compliance with farm standards and policies.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics/transport management, preferably in the dairy or FMCG sector.
• Strong knowledge of cold chain logistics and milk transport regulations.
• Proficient in route planning, fleet management, and GPS-based tracking systems.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Willing to travel as per operational needs.
