Trainer - Solar Panel Installation Technician

Job Description:
The Trainer – PM Surya Ghar will be responsible for delivering high-quality training on solar rooftop systems, entrepreneurship skills, installation processes, and safety standards as mandated under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The trainer will ensure trainees gain both technical and entrepreneurial competencies required for setting up or working in solar rooftop businesses.

A. Training Delivery

• Conduct classroom and practical training sessions on:
• Basics of solar energy and rooftop systems
• PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, wiring & BOS components
• Site survey, load assessment, and system sizing
• Installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance

Deliver EDP training modules, including:

• Entrepreneurship mindset & behavioural skills
• Business planning and project feasibility
• Financial literacy & management
• Market linkage & customer acquisition
• Government schemes & subsidy processes under PM Surya Ghar

B. Practical Demonstration

• Conduct hands-on demos on:
• Rooftop installation procedures
• Safety practices, PPE usage & electrical safety
• System troubleshooting
• Supervise trainees during field practice sessions.

C. Documentation

Maintain

• Attendance records
• Session plans & daily progress reports
• Training photographs/geotagged records
• Practical evaluation sheets

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualification

• Diploma/ITI/B.Tech (Electrical, EEE, ECE, Mechanical) or related field.
• Certification from SCGJ/Skill India preferred.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of:
• Solar PV components, design, and installation
• Safety protocols and quality standards
• DG synchronization & net metering basics
• Ability to conduct live demonstrations and troubleshoot systems.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to mentor and motivate trainees.
• Good documentation & reporting capabilities.
