Solar Panel Installation Technician – Trainer

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Solar Panel Installation Technician to join as a Trainer. The role involves training students/trainees in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, covering installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety practices. The trainer will ensure that learners acquire both technical knowledge and hands-on practical skills to become industry-ready solar technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Training Delivery
• Conduct classroom and practical training sessions on solar PV system installation, wiring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Use effective teaching methodologies and training aids (PPTs, videos, toolkits, demo solar panels).
• Provide both theoretical knowledge and field-based demonstrations.
• Curriculum & Content
• Follow prescribed curriculum aligned with Sector Skill Councils (SSC) and NSQF (National Skills Qualifications Framework) standards.
• Develop/modify training content, lesson plans, and assessments as per industry requirements.
• Assessment & Evaluation
• Regularly assess trainees’ performance through tests, assignments, and hands-on activities.
• Prepare trainees for certification exams and industry placements.
• Industry Practices & Safety
• Ensure trainees are well-versed with electrical safety, workplace safety protocols, and best practices in solar installation.
• Impart knowledge of solar PV system components: panels, inverters, batteries, charge controllers, and mounting structures.
• Field Engagement
• Organize field visits, demonstrations, and live projects on solar installations.
• Liaise with industry partners for exposure and placement opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Diploma / ITI in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• (B.Tech in Electrical / Renewable Energy preferred but not mandatory.)
• Experience:

• Minimum 3–5 years of industry experience in solar PV installation and maintenance.
• Prior training/teaching experience is an advantage.
• Certifications:
• Preferably certified under Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ) or equivalent

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of solar energy systems (grid-connected and off-grid).
• Ability to handle electrical wiring, installation tools, and measuring instruments.
• Good communication and presentation skills (in English and local language).
• Patience and enthusiasm for teaching.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office, presentation skills).
