We are a team of over 20,000 experts working across the world in more than 50 countries We are proud to be part of an ever-changing global industry, delivering transformative work thats defining our future Its our people who power that performance As an employee-owned business, we invest in creating a space for everyone to feel safe and valued and empowered with the right tools and support Whether you want to pursue excellence in your specialism or broaden your experience with flexible roles across our business, youll be connected to a community of global experts championing you to be your best Join us and shape your story with Mott MacDonald, where everyone has the opportunity to be brilliant Job Description We are seeking an ambitious Traction Power Engineer with experience in rail systems projects The successful candi will have a background in electrical engineering and/or power engineering, enabling them to contribute to the design of Traction power systems for electrical railways Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for producing technical work packages on a wide range of Mott MacDonald projects under the supervision of Senior Engineers and alongside other junior engineers The work will be varied and stimulating, covering all aspects of traction power systems for both AC and DC electrified railways The role will encompass a very broad range of traction power design elements The principal areas of work include, but are not limited to: Development of AC and DC traction power supply systems following the applicable standards, Design Production of earthing and bonding schemes, Production of specifications to support procurement of traction power equipment, Production of polished consultancy reports, Use of CAD software to produce 2D and 3D drawings, schematics and diagrams, Use of TRAIN traction load-flow simulation package to model traction power supplies, Production of electrical protection schemes and relay settings, Contribution to ongoing development of tools and processes, Attendance in Client-facing meetings from time to time Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other discipline engineers and technicians, to achieve project goals and milestones, Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration and functionality of electrical systems, Contribute to team meetings and other team events Candi Specification Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering Experience in electrical/power engineering applied to rail systems projects, preferentially in an engineering consultancy environment Knowledge of traction substation key pieces of equipment and principles related to traction power systems Working knowledge of traction load flow modelling software such as TRAIN (or equivalent) and non-traction load flow modelling software such as ETAP (or equivalent) Proficient in using AutoCAD and MicroStation Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities Familiarity with international rail standards and regulations related to rail electrical systems Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility and its application to rail systems would be an advantage, Knowledge of Python, Matlab, C++ and other software skills would be an advantage Flexible working At Mott MacDonald, we support our staff to create work-life balance which works for them and welcome candi looking for career flexibility We are open to discussing flexible working at interview stage Our Benefits Package Is Designed To Enhance Your Experience Agile working Critical illness and compassionate leave Paternity Leave Group term life insurance, and Group medical insurance coverage Career mobility options Short and Long-term global employment opportunities Global collaboration and knowledge sharing Location(s): Noida, UP, IN Bengaluru, KA, IN Contract Type: Permanent Work Pattern: Full Time Market: Transport Discipline: Railways Job Ref: 12685 Recruiter Contact: Naveen Gill
