Job Description

A Territory Sales Manager in the poultry feed supplement industry manages sales activities within a specific region to meet sales targets. Key responsibilities include developing and managing dealer networks, building relationships with farmers and distributors, conducting market analysis, providing technical support, and training field staff. The role requires a strong understanding of the poultry market, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to develop and implement sales strategies. Core responsibilities

  • Sales and target achievement: Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for poultry feed supplements in the assigned territory.
  • Dealer and distributor management: Build, expand, and manage a strong network of dealers and distributors, ensuring product availability and timely order execution.
  • Customer relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, feed Supplements distributors, and other stakeholders.
  • Market analysis: Conduct field visits, market surveys, and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Technical support: Provide technical guidance to farmers and distributors on product usage, feeding schedules, and best practices to support sales.
  • Training and development: Train distributors, retailers, and field sales staff on product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and market feedback to management.
  • Promotional activities: Organize and participate in farmer meetings, trade fairs, and on-farm demonstrations to promote products and brand visibility.

Key skills and qualifications

  • Education: A degree in veterinary science, animal science, animal nutrition,agriculture, or a related field is often preferred, along with a strong understanding of the poultry industry.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in animal feed supplements, veterinary pharma sales, or a related agri-business sector is typically required.
  • Sales and business acumen: A strong understanding of sales principles, negotiation, and commercial knowledge.
  • Communication: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and people management skills are crucial for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
  • Technical knowledge: Ability to provide technical support and recommendations based on a sound understanding of poultry nutrition and health.
  • Market awareness: Strong knowledge of the local market, including competitor activities and customer needs.
  • Other traits: Self-driven, target-oriented, and organized.
