Job Description

Role description:

Responsible for credit assessment, processing, and sanctioning of home loans and other products at the branch level. The role will have sanctioning authority and be accountable for the branches credit portfolio, working closely with sales, operations, and legal teams with key focus on maintaining the quality of the loan portfolio.

Roles and responsibilities:

Evaluation of home loan applications, ensuring compliance with credit policies, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks.
Conduct thorough assessments of applicants' financial backgrounds, creditworthiness, income stability, and repayment capacity.
Make independent credit decisions and sanction home loans within personal authority limits.
Ensure robust documentation and rationale for all credit decisions made at the branch level.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of credit officers/underwriters at the branch.
Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with organizational goals Conduct training sessions for the team to enhance their credit assessment and risk management skills.
Manage day-to-day operations of the credit team, ensuring efficiency and timely processing of applications.

Requirements:

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
High level of integrity and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
