15 years full time educationSummary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Performance Engineer specializing in Oracle database technologies to lead performance analysis, tuning, and optimization efforts. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle internals, SQL tuning, AWR/ASH analysis, and real-world experience with enterprise-scale systems. Your primary role is to ensure high availability, low latency, and optimal performance of Oracle database environments supporting critical business applications. Roles and responsibilities: - Perform in-depth analysis of database performance issues, including SQL tuning, PL/SQL optimization, and index strategies. - Lead efforts on AWR, ASH, and ADDM report analysis for proactive performance management. - Troubleshoot slow queries, blocking sessions, and resource contention across RAC and standalone environments. - Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure database efficiency in production and non-production environments. - Monitor and maintain Oracle performance baselines, using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and third-party solutions. - Provide guidance on database design and architecture with performance in mind. - Contribute to capacity planning and support scalability initiatives. - Implement performance testing strategies (load, stress, endurance testing) where applicable. - Mentor junior DBAs or engineers on best practices for performance tuning. - Participate in on-call rotation and incident triage related to performance degradation. Professional and Technical skills: - Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 7+ years of experience with Oracle Database Administration and performance tuning (preferably Oracle 12c, 19c, or higher). - Proven expertise in SQL tuning, execution plan analysis, and index optimization. - Proficiency in analyzing AWR, ASH, OEM, and other diagnostics tools. - Knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Exadata performance behavior. - Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting. - Strong knowledge of database internals, wait events, and memory management. - Familiarity with application performance issues caused by poor database interaction. Additional information: - The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience. - The position is at our Gurugram office. - A 15 year full time education is required.
