Job Description

Technical Writer is responsible for creating, maintaining all documentation such as Product documents, End user documents, Process documents, technical specifications, manuals, guides, etc.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
  • Gain deep understanding of products and services and translate complex information into simple and engaging content.
  • Create user manuals and procedures autonomously based on the working of products and systems.
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of target audience, turning insights into language for user success.
  • Develop and maintain detailed database of reference materials, including research, design specifications, device functionalities.
  • Evaluate content of existing documentation and develop innovative methods for improvement.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
  • Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications and process documentation.
  • Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise , edit and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage.
  • Research, create and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards and allow for easy data migration.
  • Create product manuals with screenshots and tutorials.
  • Write documentation for internal teams such as developers and programmers.
  • Communicate complex ideas in a concise manner.

  • Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Experience in working with engineers to refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Previous experience in industrial environment.
  • Exposure to cyber security and standards.
  • Effective in using various tools for documentation.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as an effective technical writer
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or relevant technical field.
  • Firm understanding of SDLC.
  • Prior experience in Marine / Industrial / software.
  • Experience in tools to create documentation.
