Technical Writer

My client is a global technology firm focused on innovative inflight entertainment and connectivity solutions and is seeking a Technical Writer in Pune.

THE POSITION

We’re looking for a motivated, driven, and collaborative Software Technical Writer that will be an

integral member of a small software technical writing team. As a Technical Writer with Panasonic

Avionics, you will be working with multiple teams on a variety of software projects in an Agile

environment. You will be responsible for both legacy and new projects that change a passenger's flight experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver content that focuses on the needs of our technical audience at their level of expertise.

• Research, write and edit technical documentation, such as Developer Guides, Help Systems and

User Guides, for multiple developer software products, applications and tools.

• Be an active member of multiple cross functional teams in an Agile environment.

• Use a hands-on approach to learning the technology and products being documented.

• Write clear, concise documentation using our established standards for format, conciseness,

style and terminology.

• Follow our standard procedure for reviewing and releasing technical documentation.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in a writing or technical field

• 3 to 6 years of technical writing experience

• Experience researching, writing, and editing technical documentation for software products,

applications and tools

• Experience producing high-quality technical content for a technical audience

• Experience with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, screen capture tools and help system

authoring applications. Knowledge of HTML and documenting APIs is a plus

• An outstanding team player with experience working in an Agile scrum team environment

• Ability to manage schedules, reviews and approval processes across multiple teams and time

zones

• Excellent time management and organizational skills with an ability to set priorities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
