Technical Manager

As a Technical Manager, he will oversee and ensure the successful delivery of software development projects from initiation to completion. He will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and designers, to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, budget and aligned with organizational objectives. He will also mentor and lead a team of engineers, foster a culture of innovation, and drive continuous improvement within the development process.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Management:

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development.
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Set clear objectives for the technical team and track their progress towards goals.
• Perform regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.

Project Management and Delivery:

• Oversee the technical aspects of project planning, including defining requirements, technical specifications, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Ensure the timely delivery of technical solutions, balancing the need for high-quality results with strict deadlines.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle to avoid delays or quality issues.
• Collaborate with product management, client and stakeholders to define project scope and align on priorities.

Technical Strategy and Innovation:

• Stay updated with the latest trends in technology and best practices to drive innovation and improve processes.
• Make strategic decisions about technical architecture and ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of systems.
• Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance development workflows.

Quality Assurance and Best Practices:

• Ensure that development teams adhere to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
• Promote and implement quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of technical processes.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work closely with senior management, product teams, and other departments to ensure alignment on technical direction and project priorities.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in client-facing meetings to provide technical expertise and ensure technical solutions meet customer needs.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify areas for improvement in development processes and lead initiatives to optimize workflows, increase efficiency, and reduce technical debt.
• Encourage a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the technical team.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum 13 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks e.g., Spring framework ecosystem (Core, Boot, MVC, Security etc.)
• Proven experience in managing and mentoring technical teams.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
• Good understanding of architecture patterns, databases, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• Knowledge of security best practices and experience in secure software development.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams and delivering large-scale projects.
• Good to have certifications in project management e.g. PMI-ACP, PMP, or CSM etc.
