Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced attorney to join our Legal team in India. Reporting to the Head of Legal in India, the successful candidate will be based in Gurgaon and the attorney will focus on providing advice and support to the business and legal leadership in India, primarily for contracts and related legal matters, including ongoing regulatory, operational, compliance issues. The candidate will be expected to work closely with business and global legal team in supporting Fareportal business.
The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, articulate, demonstrate sound communication, experience in negotiation, drafting commercial contracts and would be comfortable in dealing directly with all levels of business and management.
Role & Responsibilities

Labour & Employment Disputes
- Assist in drafting, reviewing and responding to legal notices, employee complaints, and court pleadings.
- Support internal investigations and disciplinary proceedings involving employee misconduct or grievances.
- Handle employment-related litigations and represent the company in labour courts, tribunals, and other forums as necessary
- Coordinate with external counsel on employment litigation and strategy.

Contract Review & Management
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including vendor agreements, service contracts, employment contracts, NDAs, and consultancy agreements.
- Maintain and update the contracts repository, ensuring version control, renewals and compliance tracking.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure contracts are in line with business needs and legal standards.

Compliance & Advisory
- Provide legal advice on labour laws, Shops & Establishments Act, Industrial Disputes Act, POSH, and other applicable regulations.
- Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with statutory requirements and regulatory changes relevant to employment and business operations.
- Support internal audits, compliance reviews and implementation of corrective actions.
- Assist in developing and rolling out internal policies related to HR, compliance, ethics, and governance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in law (LL.B.); LL.M. will be an advantage.
- 3 4 years of post-qualification experience with a law firm or in-house legal team handling labour and employment matters and contract drafting and review.
- Solid understanding of Indian labour laws and commercial contract laws.
- Strong legal drafting, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and collaborate across functions.
- Prior experience in handling employee investigations and compliance advisory is preferred.
- Previous experience with US clients/ companies would be a plus.
- Knowledge of the travel industry and/ or e-commerce would be a plus
