Teaching Assistant (Part-time, Online)

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Teaching Assistant to support our English department in delivering high-quality tutoring and academic support to students. The role involves assisting teachers in lesson preparation, student engagement, and assessment management, along with offering creative support to enhance a supportive and collaborative learning environment.

Young Scholarz is a teaching organization that is based in Singapore. We promote lifelong learning among our students by empowering them with teaching strategies that get the highest results and build confidence in the subject. We specialize in IGCSE and IB English and a range of other subjects that students need support in. Our wide range of services also include university essay guidance, resume writing, interview coaching and other expertly curated support.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

• Mark papers and essays and provide feedback on students’ homework through feedback forms and progress reports.
• Develop and design lesson plans and materials through research, sourcing, and planning, and provide support to the teacher before and after classes whenever required.
• Support marketing activities such as blog writing, website copywriting, reel making, etc. 
• Support online classes in real-time during weekends.
• Work closely with the lead teacher and academic team to ensure alignment in teaching strategies and curriculum delivery. 
• Other ad-hoc responsibilities that support the overall organization’s business.

Teaching Assistant Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in English or relevant certifications (e.g., TESOL, CELTA) is a plus. 
• Familiarity with IB, IGCSE, or similar curricula is an advantage. 
• Proficiency in using educational technology and tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Zoom).
• High level of professionalism and reliability. 
• Amiable and adaptable team player.

Time Commitment

Part-time for a minimum of 20 hours a week (4 fixed hours a day), with mandatory additional hours as required during busy exam periods or sometimes when asked.
