Tax Specialist

As a Tax Specialist 5 at Citi, you will play a crucial role in managing the tax liabilities of the company, both directly and in transactions with clients. Your responsibilities will include planning, accounting, filing, and reporting tax liabilities. You will also assist in gathering information required for income tax filing at all jurisdiction levels. Additionally, you will perform complex clerical assignments and ensure the quality of services provided, working with little to no direct supervision. Your role will involve coordinating efforts with the team to achieve function objectives and enhance productivity within guidelines. You will also be responsible for directing staff performing routine clerical or administrative work and ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and regulations to safeguard Citigroup's reputation and assets. **Responsibilities:** - Manage tax liabilities of Citi and transactions with clients, including compliance, financial reporting, planning, and controversy processes - Contribute to planning, accounting, filing, and reporting of tax liability - Assist in gathering information for income tax filing at all jurisdiction levels - Perform complex clerical assignments - Ensure quality of tasks or services provided - Work with little to no direct supervision - Coordinate efforts with the team to achieve function objectives - Direct staff performing routine clerical or administrative work - Ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations to safeguard Citigroup's reputation and assets **Qualifications:** - 2-4 years of experience **Education:** - High School diploma or equivalent In addition to the above role, you will learn the fundamentals of Prime client withholding tax related processes and provide support for withholding statement allocations and exception management processes.
