Tax Specialist

• Prepare U.S. 1120 federal and state tax returns for Franklin Resources, Inc. and its subsidiaries.
• Assist with notices, audits, and quarterly estimated tax payments.
• Prepare quarterly provision calculations including book/tax differences, Effective Tax Rate, Uncertain Tax positions, and FIN48.
• Complete other tax compliance and research tasks, including special projects.
• Research federal and state tax laws to support corporate decision-making and advise on tax matters

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be Successful

• Education: Bachelor s/Master s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or tax, with completion of basic coursework for an advanced degree.
• Experience: Minimum of three years of tax experience in a Public Accounting/Big 4 firm preferred; private industry experience is a plus.
• Taxation Knowledge: Substantial exposure to US corporate and partnership taxation, tax requirements, and issues.
• Tax Preparation Skills: Skilled in preparing U.S. Federal and State Income tax returns and other US tax forms; corporate tax experience preferred.
• Accounting Background: General accounting background with experience in accounting principles, interpreting financial statements, and tax accruals; tax provisions experience is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of tax software (Onesource Income Tax, State Apportionment, Onesource Tax Provision), Microsoft business applications, ERP systems, and tax research tools like Checkpoint.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to develop solutions consistent with organizational objectives.
