Syndrome NewEdge - L3 Network Security Engineer - Checkpoint Firewall

• Provide L3-level support and implementation expertise in Network Security, focusing on Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, and other Cisco Security technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex L2/L3 network security issues and drive high-severity incident resolution.
• Execute complex change activities including upgrades, migrations, integrations, and policy modifications.
• Conduct proactive maintenance windows, DR (Disaster Recovery) testing, and implement corrective actions to ensure high business uptime.
• Assist in the creation and enhancement of Bluecoat and Checkpoint security architectures and designs.
• Provide engineering support for business projects involving Bluecoat, Checkpoint, and other security solutions.
• Implement and support TippingPoint IDS/IPS technologies.
• Map the network landscape, identify security vulnerabilities or misconfigurations, and propose remediation strategies.
• Support cross-functional teams requiring deep understanding of IDS/IPS, routing, firewalls, and overall network architecture.
• Perform log analysis, policy creation, configuration updates, and testing activities to maintain a secure environment.
• Lead cost-effective short- and long-term initiatives to enhance visibility of network threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
• Demonstrate deep expertise in technical and security process design and best practices.
  

Preferred Knowledge & Skill Set

• 12+ years of hands-on experience in Network Security engineering.
• Strong product experience with :
• Checkpoint Firewall
• Cisco ASA
• Juniper
• Fortinet (Additional advantage: Bluecoat, TippingPoint, Palo Alto)
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of IDS/IPS technologies, routing, and multivendor security ecosystems.
