The Sustainability Manager is responsible to deliver core sustainability services across the Clientaccount in Asia Pacific. This includes collaborating with and coordinating site-level Facilities Management staff, and vendors, along with working alongside the Client to achieve their sustainability objectives.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of Waste Disposal
- Ensure correct licenses/certificates are in place for waste disposal, recycling facilities
- Ensure that disposal is carried out in the most environmentally responsible method available
- Environmental Management
- Manage and minimise energy, water, waste, paper, use, and CO2 including
- Consumption reporting and monitoring improving data coverage and accuracy
- Reduction delivery program
- Advisory, Research & Development, Program Management
- Support Barclays utility procurement strategy
- Performance management of ClientUtility Bureau Service & Tier 2 Supplier environmental activities
- Produce internal & external benchmark MI reports
- Drive awareness campaigns regarding resource efficiency and environmental management programmes
- Produce technical content for resource efficiency and environmental management communications materials
- Identify reduction initiatives and support
- Develop best practice advice, guidance and minimum standards
- Undertake ad hoc trials and testing, site audits and inspections
- Provide support to the program management of the three environmental deliverables and work streams identified for ClientCitizenship (Best practice guidance, Target setting, Employee engagement)
- Data Capture, Management, Reduction, Tracking, Interpretation & Reporting
- Support the Barclays bill validation process and associated exception reporting
- Develop reduction strategies and shortfall program which will enable service providers to deliver improvements that will align with the corporate policy targets
- Develop a reporting and tracking strategy for consumption and emission data, tracking savings and reductions and provision of guidance to mitigate any shortfall to target
- Identify and evaluate reduction initiatives, development and coordination of any shortfall action programs
- Compliance
- Managing compliance initiatives and documentation relating to CRC, EUETS, EPR, CDP and support in the completion of benchmark indices (FTSE, DJSI etc).
- Coordinate the delivery of the Environment Policy Attestations at country level facilitating interpretation of the policy at country level, providing supporting advice and materials to assist application and deliver improvements
- Report and co-ordinate the environmental risk log and record potential impacts identified by local contacts, Clientemployees and suppliers

- Ideal Experience
- 5 7 years post education industry experience, ideally in a property-focused sustainability role. Skills derived in a consulting vendor management or client relationship management role are also highly regarded
- Preference for direct experience or strong knowledge of the Facilities Management industry
- Capable of identifying, scoping and implementing (via the FM team or vendors) energy reduction initiatives across a broad range of asset types
- Strong communication and people skills capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels, across cultures and languages. Fluent in written and spoken English
- Preference for University qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business or related field
- Preference for being part of a self-starting team and willingness to get actively involved in developing solutions for the client
- Proven capacity to deliver projects on time and budget while meeting or exceeding client expectations
