Support - NPD Quality

Role & responsibilities

• Good understanding of automotive electronics development process (Hardware, Software and System) including engineering concepts and systems, and knowledge of statistical and probability methods and tools
• Experience in handling the DFMEA, PFMEA processes & DRBFM methods in design and development
• Good understanding of quality gate review mechanisms - Attend Milestone and Gate Review meetings, includes sign off on gate reviews for quality to authorize project phase to proceed
• Well versed with automotive engineering standards e.g. IATF-16949, ISO-9001, ISO-14750, ISO-7637, ISO-11452, CISPER25, etc.
• Know-how of ISO, IATF, ASPICE processes will be added advantage.
• Incorporate customer requirements into project APQP plan and assure requirements are cascaded to components AQP plan
• Track project phase inputs and outputs to ensure that the required quality tasks are met on time
• Coordinate, as part of a cross-functional team, the development and issuance of all levels of DFM/DFA and DFMEAS
• Hands-on on FMEA tool preferably APIS is highly recommended - updating past trouble data base for field failures
• Support design reviews based on Failure Modes (DRBFM) – conduct CFT reviews to verify that the past field failures are captured and recurrence preventions are implemented in the design - linkage with other processes, such as Test Plans, Process Control Plans
• Derive reliability test plans and verification plans based on DFMEA
• Attend warranty rejection analysis meeting and support RCA to evaluate design improvements
• Know-how on RCA tools like 8D, Fishbone analysis, WHY-WHY, 7-step analysis, etc. to address customer and filed issues and identify counter measures to prevent recurrence of issues
• Coordinate ECN meetings and update the appropriate documentation to meet the ECN release.
• Identify and manage reliability risks that could adversely affect business
• Support group of engineers on a technical design and development activity and completion of activity on time and budget based on customer specifications and requirements
• Review of Schematic Designs and audit for appropriate layout against PCB design guidelines – act as a gatekeeper for electronic hardware design releases
• Define EOL parameters and approve line design
• Known to Material selection process and Material approval process (IMDS, ROHS, ELM etc.)
