Chemical Composition Analysis-Expert in spectrometer (OES), wet analysis, and carbon-sulphur analyser for checking metal chemistry (C, Si Mn, P, S, Cr. etc.). Test incoming ferro-alloy material
Sample Preparation & Handling-Skilled in preparing test samples (casting, runner samples) for accurate and
repeatable chemical and metallurgical testing. Spectrochemical Instrument Operation-Proficient in operating, calibrating, and maintaining optical emission spectrometers.
Sand & Core Testing --Knowledge of moulding sand tests like moisture %, permeability, compressive strength, LOL, and pH for green/bonded sand systems.
Slag & Flux Analysis--Capable of analysing and understanding slag composition, flux behaviour, and deoxidation effects on melt quality.
Metallurgical Analysis Coordination--Works with metallography team for microstructure analysis, grain size, phase distribution, and inclusion ratings.
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Development--Prepares and enforces SOPs for chemical testing, lab safety, and quality control protocols.
Documentation & ISO/QMS Reporting--Maintains chemical test reports, calibration logs, traceability, and compliance with ISO 9001, or RDSO standards. Must knowledge of ERP software.
Abilities--
Chemical Analysis & Conformance
Accurately interprets chemical test results and ensures compliance with RDSO spees.
Defect Diagnosis & Ferro Alloy Testing
Identifies chemistry-related casting defects; handles incoming testing of ferro alloys.
Calibration & ERP Handling
Manages lab instrument calibration and maintains records using ERP systems.
Audit & Documentation Readiness
Prepares lab reports and traceability documents; trained internal auditor (2-day minimum).
Cross-functional Quality Support
Coordinates with melting and QA teams to reduce rejections and improve consistency.
R&D and Process Audit Support
Preferred Education - To be filled by HR
Supports R&D lab setup and contributes to product/process audits.
