General Manager Information Technology

Role & responsibilities : The General Manager IT will lead the IT function and strategy for the organization, ensuring the implementation and management of robust, scalable, and secure technology solutions aligned with business goals. The role includes overseeing IT infrastructure, ERP systems, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives in a steel manufacturing environment. Develop and execute the companys IT strategy in alignment with business objectives. Manage end-to-end IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and user support. Lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of ERP systems (e.g. Light House, Oracle). Drive digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives across plant operations. Oversee data management, system integration, and reporting tools to support operational efficiency. Ensure robust cybersecurity and compliance with relevant data protection regulations. Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, procurement, and service level agreements. Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and accountability. Liaise with plant heads, production, finance, and other departments to provide technology solutions. Monitor technology trends and evaluate emerging tools for potential business use Thorough understanding of ERP Lighthouse system Applicants should possess a qualification or certification in Artificial Intelligence. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Masters preferred). 20+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in the manufacturing or steel industry. Proven experience in managing large-scale ERP implementations and upgrades. Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as MES, SCADA, and automation integration. Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, cybersecurity protocols, and cloud technologies. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience in managing IT during plant expansions or greenfield projects is a plus.
