Job Purpose

The Supply Chain Purchase Engineer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services required for manufacturing and operations. This role bridges engineering and procurement to ensure that purchased items meet technical specifications, quality standards, and cost targets, while ensuring timely delivery to support production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing

• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for raw materials, components, and services.
  
• Obtain and evaluate quotations based on technical and commercial criteria.
  
• Negotiate contracts, prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  

2. Technical Review & Compliance

• Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure purchased items meet technical specifications and quality standards.
  
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical requirements.
  
• Ensure supplier compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  

3. Vendor Management

• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers while scouting for alternative sources.
  
• Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations.
  
• Resolve quality or delivery issues with vendors in coordination with QA/QC.
  

4. Supply Chain Coordination

• Plan and manage material requirements in alignment with production schedules.
  
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment.
  
• Coordinate logistics for domestic and international shipments, including customs clearance.
  

5. Cost Control & Reporting

• Achieve cost savings through effective negotiation and strategic sourcing.
  
• Maintain purchase records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
  
• Prepare procurement status reports for management review.
  

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
  
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and procurement software.
  
• Analytical skills for cost comparison and supplier evaluation.
  
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
