Role Overview

Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Fitness Programs

U.S. fitness guidelines, certifications, and best practices


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and review

    mobile-ready fitness programs

    with appropriate progression, periodization, and safety protocols.
  • Adapt programs for

    different demographics and health needs

    : beginners, older adults, chronic disease populations, and fitness enthusiasts.
  • Integrate

    U.S.-standard exercise guidelines (ACSM, AHA, WHO)

    into app-based routines.
  • Collaborate with product managers, AI engineers, and UX teams to ensure

    evidence-based and user-centered fitness delivery

    .
  • Create and approve

    exercise libraries, instructional videos, and interactive workout modules

    .
  • Develop

    adherence strategies, gamification elements, and engagement features

    for mobile fitness journeys.
  • Ensure compliance with

    CPR/AED safety protocols and emergency exercise guidelines

    .


Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience

    designing and delivering fitness programs for diverse populations.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in

    Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Human Performance, or Biomechanics (preferred)

    .
  • U.S.-recognized certifications (mandatory):

  • NSCA – Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)

    or NSCA-CPT
  • NASM – CPT, PES, or Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES)

  • ACE – Certified Personal Trainer or Medical Exercise Specialist

  • ACSM – Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) or Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP)

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (required)

  • Proven expertise in

    digital fitness program development

    or

    mobile app-based coaching

    .
  • Strong understanding of

    user engagement and adherence factors in digital platforms

    .


Nice to Have

  • Experience with

    wearables, digital biomarkers, or connected fitness ecosystems

  • Familiarity with

    mobile health regulations and data privacy (HIPAA)

  • Experience in

    chronic condition-specific exercise (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, obesity management)
