About the Role

We’re looking for a compassionate and proactive

Student Welfare Officer

to support the wellbeing of our student community. The role focuses on providing guidance, counselling, crisis support, and creating a positive, inclusive campus environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential advice, support, and counselling to students on personal, academic, or social issues.
  • Assist students experiencing emotional, mental-health, financial, or wellbeing challenges.
  • Act as a point of contact for students in crisis and ensure timely intervention.
  • Develop individualized support plans for students where needed.
  • Plan and implement student welfare and wellbeing programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
  • Promote activities related to mental health, stress management, inclusivity, and student engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student welfare cases while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with policies.
  • Identify at-risk students and coordinate appropriate follow-up support.
  • Collaborate with faculty, counsellors, residence staff, and administrative departments to address student welfare concerns.
  • Liaise with external agencies (health services, social services, NGOs) for referrals and additional support.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the creation or revision of welfare-related policies and guidelines.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive campus environment.
  • Deliver sessions to students and staff on welfare topics such as bullying prevention, mental health awareness, and safety protocols.
  • Train student leaders and mentors on how to identify and respond to welfare concerns.
  • Closely work with the Office of Registrar to implement student related different guidelines / circular / notifications as issued by the regulatory / statutory bodies
  • Closely work with the Office of Student Council (Mumbai and Off-Campuses) as per direction of the Registrar

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counselling, or related field.
  • Experience in student welfare, counselling, or youth support preferred.
  • Certification in counselling or mental-health first aid is a plus.
