Student Counsellor (Target-Based, Probationary Role)
Location: Gurugram (On-site/Hybrid)
Department: Skillup - Student Training & Placement
Reports To: Program Manager, Skillup
Type: Full-Time, 3-Month Probation (Performance-Based Conversion to Permanent)

Role Overview
As a Student Counsellor for Skillup, your primary responsibility is to drive program enrolments by engaging with prospective students, understanding their career aspirations, and guiding them towards the right training and placement solutions. This is a target-driven role for an initial 3-month probation period; high performers will be offered a permanent position with a fixed salary and attractive incentives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively reach out to potential students through calls, emails, campus visits, and digital channels to promote Skillup programs
  • Counsel students and recent graduates on career paths, training options, internships, and placement opportunities available through Skillup
  • Understand individual student needs and recommend suitable courses, internships, and job simulation experiences
  • Manage the complete enrolment process, from initial enquiry to successful registration and onboarding
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly enrolment targets as set by the management
  • Organize and participate in webinars, seminars, and campus events to increase program visibility and student engagement
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, follow-ups, and conversions in the CRM system
  • Provide timely and professional responses to student queries, ensuring a positive experience throughout their journey with Skillup
  • Gather feedback from students to improve counselling approaches and program offerings
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in any discipline; education or counselling background preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in student counselling, admissions, or educational sales (freshers with strong communication and sales skills may also apply)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly
  • Target-driven, self-motivated, and resilient attitude
  • Ability to understand student needs and offer tailored solutions
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and digital outreach methods is an advantage
