Job Description

Job Summary:

The F&B Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and managing inventory of food and beverage items within the hotel or restaurant. This role ensures that all F&B items are stored safely, hygienically, and in accordance with company policies and health regulations. The storekeeper also assists with inventory control, stock rotation, and documentation to support efficient kitchen and bar operations.

Key Responsibilities:Receiving and Inspection:

  • Receive all incoming F&B deliveries and verify against purchase orders (POs) and delivery notes.
  • Inspect items for quality, quantity, expiration date, and damages.
  • Ensure all goods are stored at appropriate temperatures and conditions.

Storage and Organization:

  • Store all products in designated storage areas (dry, refrigerated, or frozen) with proper labeling and FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all storage areas.
  • Monitor temperature logs of chillers and freezers regularly.

Inventory Control:

  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels, item movement, and daily issues to kitchen/bar/outlets.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly stock counts with the finance/purchasing department.
  • Report any discrepancies or spoilages to the concerned manager.

Issuing and Distribution:

  • Prepare daily requisitions from kitchen and outlets based on approved requests.
  • Ensure timely and accurate issuance of items to departments as per established procedures.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain all documentation related to receiving, issuing, and inventory as per internal and audit requirements.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP or relevant local guidelines).
  • Assist with internal and external audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in inventory management or food safety is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within hospitality or F&B operations.
  • Basic knowledge of food storage and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software (e.g., FMC, Materials Control, or similar).
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Physically fit to handle lifting and moving of stock.
