State Head Sales (GUJARAT)

Role Overview

As the State Head – Sales for GUJARAT, you will own end-to-end revenue growth and market development across the state. You will build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales organization—ensuring that targets are met through strategic planning, strong customer relationships, and continuous team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Execution

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for GUJARAT to achieve aggressive revenue and marketshare targets.
    • Forecast sales, set statelevel KPIs, and track performance against goals.
  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Recruit, onboard, and mentor area managers, and sales representatives.
    • Conduct regular training, coaching, and performance reviews to build a culture of accountability and excellence.
    • Drive talent-development initiatives and succession planning for key roles.
  • Market Expansion & Customer Engagement

    • Identify and penetrate new territories, distributor networks, hospitals, and clinics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with Marketing to develop localized promotional campaigns and product launches.
    • Work closely with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure product availability and timely deliveries.
  • Financial Management & Reporting

    • Prepare and manage the state sales budget, expense forecasts, and P&L.
    • Provide monthly and quarterly sales reports, market insights, and competitive intelligence to senior management.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Industry Experience:

    • 10+ years in sales within the medical devices industry, with a proven track record of success in a senior leadership role.
    • Strong network of distributor and institutional contacts in GUJARAT.
  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Leadership & People Management:

    • Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and retain high-performing sales teams (15+ direct and indirect reports).
    • Excellent coaching, mentoring, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking:

    • Proficient in sales forecasting, budgeting, and data-driven decision making.
    • Strong negotiation and deal-closing capabilities.
  • Personal Attributes:

    • Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and resilient under pressure.
    • Willingness to travel extensively (about 20 days a month)
