Experience

8 – 15 yrs.

Rolesand Responsibilities:

• Studyof the manufacturing drawings to prepare weld technology sheet/ weld map/ weldplan.
• Qualificationand preparation of welding procedure specifications (WPS), Procedurequalification records (PQR), WPQ/WOPQ documents.
• Superviseprocedure qualification and performancequalification activity of welder/ welding operators,
• Trainingof welder/welding operator prior to performance qualification,
• Qualificationof welders as per IBR/ ASME/EN through Inspecting authority or CP.
• Dailymonitoring of shop welding activities, interaction with welders and maintainingdocuments in line to project requirements.
• Technicalsupervision of all welders/weldingoperators on shop floor.
• ConductTraining programs for the welders, shop supervisors according to projectspecifications and standards.
• Welddefect analysis, and implementation of action plan.
• Calibrationof welding and heat treatment equipment’s as per standards
  

CriticalCompetencies:

• Welding,heat treatment and metal fabrication knowledge
• Understandingof national/international codes and standards like ASME Sec IX, IBR 1950, etc
• Conversantwith Carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless-steel materials etc
• Strongability and in-depth knowledge of common welding processes like GTAW, SMAW,SAW, FCAW processes and welding consumables.
• Weldingdefects, its causes and
• Inspectionand testing of weld joints.
• Weldingconsumables requirements as per code / customer specifications.
