About the Role
- We are looking for an experienced Control-M professional to support enterprise workload automation and batch scheduling for a global customer environment. The role involves end-to-end ownership of Control-M operations, job configuration, monitoring, incident/problem/change management, patching, system administration and continuous optimization of the platform.
- The candidate will be part of a Managed Services team providing L3 technical support, working closely with global infrastructure, DevOps and application teams.

- Control-M (from BMC Software) is a leading workload automation and scheduling platform used to orchestrate enterprise batch jobs, file transfers and workflows across complex IT landscapesERP, databases, SAP, Oracle, cloud services, and file systems. It ensures business-critical processes run in the right sequence and at the right time.

Key Responsibilities
1. Control-M Operations & System Management
- Day-to-day operations of the Control-M platform including monitoring, job execution, job failure handling, alerts and dashboard supervision.
- Perform L3 Incident Resolution for Control-M issues logged in ServiceNow.
- Manage Batch job workflows, dependencies, scheduling, and job automation needs.
- Handle backup/restore, Health Checks, and Control-M housekeeping tasks.
2. Job Scheduling, Configuration & Deployment
- Configure new jobs, workflows and file transfers (including built-in SFTP) as per application team requirements.
- Participate in job design with application teams and act as the first point of contact during non-CET hours.
- Deploy approved changes, manage job migration and execute Change Management activities.
3. Environment Administration
- Create and manage Hostgroups, Agents, Resources and Control-M server components.
- Administration of Windows AD Groups used for roles/permissions.
- Implement and maintain SSL certificates for Control-M components.
- Support patching cycles, system restarts and coordinated downtime activities.
4. Incident, Problem & Change Management
- Handle incidents proactively & reactively including root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate with BMC Vendor Support for product defects and platform issues.
- Follow Scanias ITSM processes (IM, PM, CM), working with ServiceNow and Jira.
5. Upgrades, Performance & Optimization
- Perform Control-M version upgrades, Fix Packs, and infrastructure patches.
- Monitor capacity, performance, and optimize workflows for efficiency.
- Drive automation improvements and DevOps integrations (CI/CD).
6. Reporting & Governance
- Generate operational reports, SLA dashboards, job success/failure KPIs.
- Participate in monthly service review meetings.
- Maintain process documentation and SOPs.
Required Technical Competencies
- Control-M Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Control-M Administration, Scheduling, and Automation.
- Experience in other workload automation tools is an added advantage.
- Deep understanding of batch workflows, dependencies, file transfers, ERP integrations (SAP/Oracle).
- Systems & Scripting
Strong OS knowledge:
- o Windows, Linux, AIX
- Scripting:
- o Shell/Bash scripting (Linux)
- o PowerShell scripting (Windows)
- Job debugging, log analysis, and performance tuning.
- ITSM & Tools
- Incident, Problem, Change Management using ServiceNow.
- Request handling through Jira.
- Understanding of DevOps pipelines, deployment models & CI/CD processes.
Other Competencies
- Strong communication skills to interact with global teams.
- Ability to work independently (self-sufficient in incident handling).
- Experience in BCP/DR drills and recovery handling.
- Ability to support multi-timezone operations.
