Sr. Staff Engineer - Trading

We’re building a scalable, tax-efficient trading & rebalancing platform for wealth management firms of all sizes. The platform will target sophisticated rebalancing strategies across equities, mutual funds, and fixed-income products and send trades to be completed in the market.

partnering with other staff and senior engineers to guide the technical direction and architecture

• Partner with senior engineering peers

  to guide the architectural design and technical direction for the Trading suite of products
• Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable solutions on cloud platforms, with a strong focus on AWS

• Play a key role in the execution

  of complex, long-term technical projects, from planning and scoping through to delivery
• Mentor, coach, and empower other engineers, contributing to an inclusive and high-performing team culture
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to ensure teams are delivering long-term value for our users
• Amplify your technical ability by empowering your peers and contributing to code reviews and technical designs
• Research and drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices to drive innovation
• Our engineering team primarily works in Java, Python, React, and Ember, and we use Agile methodologies to deliver impactful business outcomes

• Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering 

• Java

• Must have experience with SQL databases and writing efficient SQL queries.

• Kafka

• You have extensive experience in software development, including building backend services in a professional environment
  
• You have a deep and expert knowledge of software design patterns, API design, and the software development lifecycle
  
• Proven ability to

  influence technical direction and make significant contributions

  to the architecture of complex, distributed systems
• Expertise in cloud platforms, preferably

  AWS

• You have a track record of amplifying your impact by mentoring other engineers and

  collaborating effectively within a team of senior peers

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and drive clarity when objectives are not yet fully defined
  
• Experience in the financial industry or wealth management
