Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for procurement of MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) items including electrical, mechanical spares, consumables, and tools required for smooth and cost-effective plant operations. The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at competitive costs, while maintaining optimum inventory levels and ensuring supplier performance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for the purchase of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials including Electrical, Mechanical, Consumables, and Tools for a stainless-steel industry.
• Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement of high-quality MRO materials in line with company standards and requirements.
• Evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery speed, and maintain strong vendor relationships for optimal procurement outcomes.
• Monitor inventory levels of MRO materials and develop inventory control strategies to prevent stockouts and minimize carrying costs.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand MRO material requirements and ensure timely fulfilment of procurement needs.
• Implement efficient procurement processes and systems to streamline purchasing operations and enhance overall procurement efficiency.
• Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and innovative procurement solutions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.
• Lead a team of procurement professionals and provide guidance, support, and training to optimize departmental performance.
