Sr. Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer in Procurement for Industrial Products, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities for high-impact industrial categories such as Tools & Machinery, Safety Products, Power Transmission, Pumps, Hardware, and Metal components. Your role will require a combination of engineering expertise and commercial acumen to source quality products at optimal cost and within set timelines. Key Responsibilities: - Understand technical specifications and drawings for mechanical and industrial components. - Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for categories including Industrial Tools & Machinery, Safety Products, Power Transmission, Hardware, Pumps, and Metal parts. - Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers based on volume, lead time, and quality. - Develop vendor strategies to ensure supply stability, price competitiveness, and product quality. - Coordinate with engineering and quality teams to ensure technical alignment. - Monitor and manage procurement timelines to prevent project delays. - Conduct cost analysis and drive cost reduction initiatives. - Maintain procurement documentation (PO, GRN, technical approvals). - Stay updated with market trends, new suppliers, and product innovations in the industrial category. Key Skills & Qualifications: - B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. - Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement or sourcing of industrial/MRO/mechanical goods. - Strong knowledge of industrial product categories. - Familiarity with technical drawings, specifications, and material standards. - Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. - Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) preferred. - Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
