Sr. Manager / Manager - Network Engineering

Role Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager / Manager Network Engineering with 12–17 years of relevant experience in designing, deploying, and managing large-scale enterprise-grade IT network infrastructure.

The role will combine technical expertise with strategic leadership, ensuring our network platforms are scalable, secure, and aligned with future business growth.

The incumbent will lead the network engineering team, drive high-impact projects, manage vendors, and provide hands-on escalation support for complex critical incidents. The role demands end-to-end ownership — from architecture (HLD/LLD) through implementation, capacity planning, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of network engineers; foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
• Own and deliver on network transformation roadmaps, aligned with business and security objectives.
• Provide leadership in incident, problem, and capacity management with focus on minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.
• Manage vendor relationships, ensuring optimal delivery of hardware, software, and services.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Security, Infrastructure, Applications) to ensure network readiness for business needs and technology integrations.

Design & Implementation

• Lead architecture discussions; create High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level (LLD) Network Designs for enterprise and datacentre environments.
• Plan and oversee the end-to-end deployment of network solutions, including core routing, switching, and security platforms.
• Drive capacity planning, scalability assessments, and ensure fault-tolerant architectures.

Operations & Troubleshooting

• Act as highest-level escalation points for complex network issues — troubleshoot independently under pressure.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and implement continual service improvements.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and governance processes.

Technical Expertise Required

• Core Networking & Routing:

• Cisco Data Centre technologies (ACI Spine/Leaf, Nexus 9000/8000 series switches, Catalyst platforms)
• Routing and Switching expertise with experience in hands on deployment and troubleshooting.
• Advanced BGP, OSPF, and multicast routing in enterprise environments

• Network Security:

• Fortinet FortiGate firewalls including Forti Manager / Forti Analyzer
• Palo Alto firewalls with Panorama management or Strata

• Infrastructure Management:

• Network monitoring and analysis tools
• Capacity management and network performance tuning

• Compliance & Audits:

• Familiarity with audit frameworks: ISO, PCI-DSS, SOC, SOC2, VA/PT

Experience & Qualifications

• 12–17 years of overall professional experience in Network Engineering, with at least 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles.
• Proven record of designing, implementing, and leading complex network transformation projects.
• Strong ability to balance strategic oversight with tactical, hands-on network troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Cisco CCNP/CCIE (Routing & Switching, Data Center)
• PCNSE / PCNSA
• Fortinet NSE 7 or above
• ITIL v4 Certification
