Sr. Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

Description: Under general supervision, contributes to control system engineering specification. Contributes to innovation and standardization of control architecture and platforms. Contributes to the development and documentation of control algorithms that provide superior performance, enhanced reliability and diagnostics. Coordinates internal and external efforts for Electronics and Software design projects to ensure that product and customer requirements are captured, specifications are documented, necessary milestones are identified and project schedules are met. Reviews external supplier hardware and firmware designs to insure that requirements are met. Investigates feasibility and design of advanced control system technology, while ensuring the systems and components meet all identified needs. Contributes to control system modeling, analysis, and verification & validation efforts and system integration teams. Creates wiring diagrams and control schematic diagrams. Provides technical consultancy to regional engineers and assist in resolving field problems. Field tests the technology, analyzes field test results to confirm technology specifications and validate performance. May assist in the regional StageGate activities and coordination with centralized design team for releasing of engineering designs, developing product literature, service training. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Requires at least 1 year related experience. Developing knowledge in controls hardware, software, and algorithms. Knowledge of the integration of electronic controls subsystems. Proficient in system modeling and simulation. Able to perform circuit analysis to determine power, currents and voltages for all circuit components. Knowledge of troubleshooting and root cause analysis methods. Good understanding and hands on experience on Reliability tools. Able to coordinate cross functional team. Solid knowledge about developing and documenting electronic qualification testing. Able to manage vendors and suppliers for project delivery and integration. Knowledge of reliability procedures and how to design to meet reliability goals. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Familiar with concepts and processes of root cause analysis and correction and failure modes effect analysis. Show more Show less
