Sr Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and administering databases to ensure optimal performance and security. Your key responsibilities will include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in database management and administration. - Proficiency in one or more relational database management systems (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). - Strong SQL query writing and optimization skills. - Performing routine maintenance tasks such as software updates and backups. - Implementing and maintaining database security measures like access control, authentication, and encryption. - Knowledge in Query Optimization and Query Tuning. - Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). - Planning and implementing strategies for scaling databases as data volume and traffic grow. - Evaluating and implementing sharding, partitioning, or other scalability techniques when necessary. - Deploying and configuring monitoring tools to track database performance and security. - Setting up alerting systems for proactive issue resolution. - Experience with scripting and automation for database tasks. - Familiarity with monitoring and management tools for DBMS.
