You should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in database management and administration. Proficiency in one or more relational database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB is required. Your responsibilities will include strong SQL query writing and optimization skills, routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates and backups, and implementing and maintaining database security measures like access control, authentication, and encryption. You are expected to have a good understanding of Query Optimization and Query Tuning and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA. As part of your role, you will need to plan and implement strategies for scaling databases as data volume and traffic increase. You should be able to evaluate and implement sharding, partitioning, or other scalability techniques when necessary. Deploying and configuring monitoring tools to track database performance and security, as well as setting up alerting systems for proactive issue resolution, will be part of your responsibilities. Knowledge of data security best practices, regulatory compliance, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities are essential. Strong communication and collaboration skills are required for this role, along with experience in scripting and automation for database tasks. Familiarity with monitoring and management tools for database management systems (DBMS) will be beneficial.,
