A CAT I Investment Bank part of larger listed SMC group, focused on providing transaction advisory services to clients on mergers, acquisitions, capital raise, restructurings and capital market advisory. SMC Capitals is also part of Translink. A global network of financial advisors on their cross-border M&A activity.

• Perform financial analysis, due diligence, research, modelling and documentation of live transactions

• Preparing collaterals and review of materials including investment memoranda, models, and pitchbooks

• Part of pitch making team to prospective clients- work on any research reports, weekly updates, newsletters etc

• Capability to managing or Lead in the entire deal cycle e.g. origination, pitching, execution, negotiation etc

• Manage project timelines and quality of deliverables in a manner to ensure high client satisfaction

• Maintain database for assigned sectors

• Responsible for networking and Independent client engagement

• Sectorial scoping and outreach to companies (cold calling, attending external events)- Generating new leads and developing relationships with new and existing clients.

• Working closely with the Translink Network on potentials cross border M&A opportunities

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and legal issues in the financial industry.

• Affinity for current events, critical issues, and relevant news.

• Mentor / educate and develop other junior professionals to cultivate their skill sets, technical abilities, investment acumen and firm contributions.

• Strong understanding of financial statements and business understanding

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Organized and well planned

• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, eye for detail, problem solving capabilities

• Should be able to work under high pressure work conditions

• Strong financial modelling skills

• Ability to understand critical levers of a business

• Proficiency in handling MS Office applications

Qualifications

·      CA/CFA preferred

·      MBA in Finance from top tier institute

Work Experience

·      3-7 years in Investment Banking/Fund/Fundamental Equity research

·      Candidates from top tier broking houses will be preferred
