Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance is documented throughout the supply chain and systems by maintaining, suggesting, and implementing continuous improvements to existing process workflows.
- Implements trade systems and internal control applications.
- Monitors and maintains trade compliance data elements in ESAB companies systems by collaborating with IT and other departments.
- Supports integration of data, systems, and procedures.
- Manages Customs broker performance and improves processes around import compliance.
- Continuously improves the processes related to export controls, customs broker management, management of HTS, Export Control Numbers, Country of Origin ( COO ).
- Identifies procedural gaps and areas of improvement and opportunity in import or export processes.
- Manages day-to-day compliance issues, provides guidance, and supports related projects in NAM and other regions.
- Trains associates on relevant trade compliance topics and processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Initial Short-Term Objectives
- Learn ESAB products and their commodity (HTS) codes.
- Learn operations and supply chain flows in various regions.
- Learn all export and import processes and procedures.
- Set up reports and analytics for export and import management, reporting, and process improvement (KPIs).
- Collaborate with other GTC team members on formalizing processes, monitoring certain transactions, conducting assessments, etc.
Longer-Term Objectives, Among Others
- Identify areas for improvement within existing export and import processes.
- Support automation of trade data attributes.
- Help GTC team develop more effective and efficient control environment.
- Manage projects aimed to improve existing export and import processes in the Business Units.
- Identify opportunities for savings through trade programs and for prevention of penalties through driving process efficiencies.
- Train associates on various topics of export and import trade law topics.
Targeted Experience & Requirements
Required
- Bachelor s degree in International Trade, Engineering, Finance, Business, Law, Supply Chain, Logistics, Data Analysis, or similar analytical disciplines.
- At least eight ( 8 ) years of experience in import/export operations, with at least two ( 2 ) years of direct experience in tariff classifications, Free Trade Agreements (preferential treatment programs), and/or export sanctions laws and processes.
- Project management experience.
- Proven data science or analysis experience with the demonstrated experience in automation of the processes and the AI applications.
- Advanced level in MS Excel, including, but not limited to V-look up, macros, formula use, pivot tables, and visualization.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with fluency in spoken and written English.
Strongly Preferred
- Accreditation in trade compliance such as the HTS classifications (e.g., licensed Customs broker, Certified HTS Specialist), CUSECO, or the like
- Project Management Professional ( PMP ) or other certifications.
- Experience using automated solutions for repetitive tasks or streamlining various requests.
- Experience using and implementing applications for creating trade attributes (HTS, COO, ECCN).
- Work experience at Big Four (KPMG, Deloitte, EY, PwC), a trade law practice, or a trade consulting firm.
- Coding skills, AI applications, other.

Mobility & Travel Requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel within India and internationally to support ESAB businesses.
- Travel is approximately 10% beyond India and 90% in India.
