About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Database Developer/DBA to lead and execute a migration project involving Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in database migration, optimization, schema design, and performance tuning, along with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of databases from Oracle to MS SQL Server (or vice versa), ensuring data integrity, performance, and minimal downtime.
• Analyze existing database schemas, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages for migration compatibility.
• Design and implement data migration scripts, ETL processes, and automation pipelines.
• Optimize and refactor SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans for performance improvements.
• Manage database configuration, backups, recovery, and high-availability setups.
• Collaborate with developers to refactor and rewrite application-level database interactions where necessary.
• Conduct testing, validation, and performance benchmarking after migration.
• Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to the internal team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in database development and administration with Oracle and/or MS SQL Server.
• Proven experience in cross-platform migration (Oracle ↔ MS SQL Server).
• Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, T-SQL, and database scripting.
• Hands-on experience with SSIS, SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA), or other migration tools.
• Deep understanding of database design, normalization, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with performance tuning, backup/recovery strategies, and security best practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud, or other cloud database services.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL pipelines.
• Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
• Certification such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Pay: ₹1,027,509.21 - ₹2,039,029.05 per year
