About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Sous Chef to oversee and manage the daily food operations of our hostel. The ideal candidate will ensure that residents are served nutritious, hygienic, and well-balanced meals while maintaining high standards of kitchen efficiency and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and preparing daily meals for hostel residents.
• Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate day to day cooking operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
• Plan cost-effective menus suitable for hostel dining.
• Oversee inventory, stock rotation, and timely procurement of ingredients.
• Train junior kitchen staff and maintain a positive working environment.
• Manage portion control to reduce wastage and maintain quality.
• Handle special dietary requirements when needed.
• Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure regular maintenance.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma/degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a commercial kitchen; hostel or institutional cooking experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to prepare meals for large groups efficiently.
• Knowledge of nutritional standards and safe food practices.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings and weekends.
