Role & responsibilities

Auction Opportunity Identification

• Daily monitoring of multiple auction websites and platforms to identify relevant scrap opportunities.
• Engage with auction house representatives to gather information on upcoming auctions, registration requirements, and participation process.
• Conduct on-ground visits to auction sites to understand operational characteristics, quality of materials, and logistics constraints.

Seller Engagement & Onboarding

• Build relationships with sellers listing their scrap for auctions to enable participation.
• Facilitate seller onboarding on company systems, ensuring all compliance and documentation requirements are met.
• Follow up with sellers for timely approvals, clarifications, and confirmations.

Operational Coordination

• Liaise with internal sales, logistics, and procurement teams for daily operational requirements such as:
• Vehicle placement for material pickup.
• Labour arrangement for loading/unloading.
• Material inspection and verification before participation.
• Coordinate with finance/commercial teams for payments, deposits, and auction compliance.
• Making supply agreements with the help of the legal team if required.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

• Track scrap price trends, auction win/loss ratios, and competitor activity.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on auction participation, material sourced, and cost benefits achieved.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience:

  4+ years of experience in procurement, scrap sourcing, or industrial auctions. Experience in any type of scrap, manufacturing, or recycling industry is preferred.

• Skills:

• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication (verbal & written) to interact with sellers, auction houses, and internal teams.
• Analytical ability to assess scrap value, operational feasibility, and profitability of auctions.
• Hands-on approach with willingness to travel for site visits and inspections.
• Familiarity with online auction platforms and procurement systems

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or any related field.
