Job Description

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Solar Technician for Operations & Maintenance of solar power plants, responsible for ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting of solar PV systems.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of solar PV systems
Perform daily inspection, monitoring, and module cleaning
Monitor plant performance through SCADA and troubleshoot system failures
Install, commission, and test solar modules and inverters
Perform electrical testing (IV curve, insulation, earthing tests)
Diagnose and repair faulty modules, inverters, and electrical components
Handle DC/AC systems, string configurations, and cable management
Maintain safety protocols, use PPE, and ensure compliance with IEC standards
Report daily activities and coordinate with EPC contractors/OEMs
Maintain logs, documentation, and spare parts inventory

Required Qualifications

Education:

ITI (Electrician/Wireman) / Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Experience:

2-5 years in solar O&M operations
Experience in utility-scale, commercial, or rooftop solar projects

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, and monitoring systems
Proficiency with testing equipment (multimeter, clamp meter, IV curve tracer)
Understanding of grid-connected, off-grid, and hybrid systems
Basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting

Preferred Skills

SCADA and remote monitoring experience
Ability to read electrical drawings
Knowledge of battery storage systems
Willingness to travel and work outdoors
