Software Consultant - RPG/AS400

Profile We are looking for a skilled Software Consultant – RPG with hands-on experience in developing and maintaining applications using RPG on AS400 (IBM iSeries) systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of business processes in the Insurance domain , coupled with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Experience Required: 1-3 Years Job Type: Permanent Location: Noida (Hybrid / Remote) Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance applications written in RPG (IV, ILE, or Free format) on AS400 systems. Work closely with business analysts and domain experts to understand insurance-related requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Perform system analysis, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and implementation of software applications. Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring system reliability and performance. Support system integration and data migration efforts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across IT and business units. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in RPG programming (RPG IV/ILE/Free format). Solid experience working on AS400 (IBM iSeries) platforms. Strong knowledge of Insurance domain workflows , terminology, and processes. Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and batch job management on AS400. Familiarity with CL, DB2/400, and SQL. Working knowledge using PCML. Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing applications. Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile practices. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a client-facing or consulting environment. Knowledge of modernization tools for RPG/AS400 systems. Exposure to the integration of legacy systems with modern applications or APIs.
