Social HOD

The Head of Department – Social Studies will provide academic and administrative leadership to the Social Studies faculty. The role focuses on ensuring innovative, inquiry-based teaching, continuous academic improvement, and alignment with the school’s mission of holistic and global education.

Key Responsibilities:Academic & Curriculum Leadership

• Design, plan, and implement a comprehensive Social Studies curriculum in accordance with CBSE/International standards.
• Ensure effective integration of History, Geography, Civics, Economics, and Political Science to promote global understanding and civic responsibility.
• Encourage inquiry-based, experiential learning methods that develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Regularly review lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools for quality and relevance.

Department Management

• Lead, guide, and motivate the Social Studies faculty to achieve academic excellence.
• Conduct departmental meetings, workshops, and training sessions for continuous professional growth.
• Maintain departmental records, academic data, and performance reports.
• Coordinate timetables, workload distribution, and substitution plans within the department.

Assessment & Evaluation

• Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
• Ensure timely submission and analysis of marks, grades, and feedback.
• Support teachers in preparing examination papers and maintaining assessment integrity.

Student Engagement

• Organize activities that enhance learning outcomes such as Model United Nations, debates, exhibitions, heritage projects, and social awareness drives.
• Encourage interdisciplinary projects linking Social Studies with Environmental Science, Literature, and Global Issues.

Coordination & Communication

• Serve as the link between the Social Studies department and the school administration.
• Participate in academic planning meetings and contribute to the school’s overall development.
• Collaborate with other departments to support cross-curricular initiatives.
• Maintain positive communication with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Social Studies / History / Geography / Political Science / Economics.
• B.Ed / M.Ed is mandatory.
• Minimum 7–10 years of teaching experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or HOD role.
• Strong knowledge of CBSE/International curriculum frameworks and NEP 2020 guidelines.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in digital tools and technology-driven teaching.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
